Melinda Roeder's Bio:

Melinda Roeder is an adjunct college professor of journalism and video production.  She has been working on-air as a reporter and news anchor for nearly two decades.  Her accomplishments include 13 Emmy Awards, 7 Edward R. Murrow awards, and more than a dozen honors from the Associated Press in Maryland, Kentucky, Indiana and Pennsylvania.  She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Communications Committee for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).  Melinda has also served as a Trustee of NATAS, representing the Maryland/Virginia/Washington D.C. region.    Melinda has been a speaker and presenter for Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE) and for the annual NATAS student workshop "Face Time with the Pros." She is also a member of the National Press Club and the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA).  Melinda is frequently asked to judge her peers' work for entries in regional Emmy contests.  Three times she was named "Best Reporter" by the Associated Press for the state of Maryland.  She has also been named "Best Reporter" by Baltimore Magazine.   Melinda hold a Master's degree in Communications & Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University.  Her thesis research focused on crisis communication strategies via social media.  She also has a Bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism from Duquesne  University.    Melinda is also a member of the Screen Actor's Guild.  She has appeared in TV productions including "VEEP" and "House of Cards."
